My daughter Sierra will be coming to play Friday 9/13 as well.
I have been in contact with the Waterbury rec department regarding the damaged net. I've been told there is no money in the budget to fix it this year and it will be replaced next year. I've asked how much to fix it, but haven't gotten a price yet. Maybe we can help fund the replacement this year????
Meanwhile, we are down to 3 good courts. Please plan accordingly. Note that there is another group that doesn't post here that regularly plays Tu and Th mornings. They typically have enough players for two courts on Tu and one court on Th.
I got an email from the rec dept that the net has been made "useable". Anybody seen it and care to comment?
The email also said that the posts need replacement and are $400 each. I believe that is in the budget fir next year. I've suggested they get ones with cranks so the height can more easily be adjusted.
I just heard that a new net is $350. I'm leaving town for a week and can't coordinate this in a timely fashion. Anyone want to take charge? Do we think it worthwhile or is the net in question repaired sufficiently for the rest of the season?
